This is a funny story : D I am laughing at myself!
Yesterday begins with thursday night....
I had a small cup of coffee at about 5:00 thursday night, which means I unable to fall asleep until around 2:30.... to which I woke up at 3:30 because I had to go to the bathroom.... well, I thought I had to go, I went and it turns out that I didn't have to go that badly, and I could have just slept it off. Anyway, that event kept me awake until around 5:30... to which my alarm went off at 6:30 so I wouldn't be late for my work which started at 7:30
So i order coffee and get down to work. I finished work around 12:00, and of course it was snowing. I forgot my bank book at home, so I had to ride my bike back home to get my bank book, then back to the bank to send money to america and pay some bills. bye bye money!
I get back home, and try to design.... needless to say everything that came out was just terrible. I just couldn't get anything done. I am glad illustrator freaked out causing me to loose all my work.
So I tried to take a nap, but alas, I couldn't sleep
I took a shower around 9:00 and got ready for my speaking appointment with Marianne at 10:45. This just HAD to be my first french conversation in my life... and I was Dead, D-E-D Dead!
But I smiled my way thought it with my fried brain... You could have been speaking to me in swahili and would have been like, OK, whatever.... But I was babbling like a little bébé... and mumbling to myself in Japanese. I have been doing that for 5 years now, so I am very used to it. Maybe I need to learn how to mumble to myself in French..
After that conversation I passed out in my sweet little bed
Anyway, I had fun, and I think I can do it (If I am awake) Next time I talk to Marianne, I defiantly want to have a topic chosen in advanced, so I have time to practice a bit. But I think maybe once every two weeks. 15 min is more than enough time for now. I have some ideas for some simple things to write out and talk about. So now I got to get on the ball and do it
Next time will be much better, I hope..
and no more coffee after 3:00 PM, that is the real lesson learned.
and Marianne, your hair looks really good like that, keep keep that style!
Hi Val, you were tired and I know how you felt :)
You can do it!
I'm pleased to see that your headline is 'je parle français, mais un peu' it's better than your 'I don't speak french'. You did told me some phrases in FRENCH :)
I'm glad you appreciated this first discussion. Preparing the further ones will help you to be more confident. You will do well.
Thanks for the compliment!
J'ai aimé la jupe que vous m'avez montré :)

Konnichiwa Val ;)
En français, on dit: je ferais de mon mieux.
What does mean yoroshiku ne? I'll learn a few Japanese words ;) ...

Merci beacoup! Je ferais de mon mieux!!
I need to lingQ that before I forget!
Yoroshiku ne is a casual version of "Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu" which is the most commonly used Japanese phrase without any good english translation. In this case it would be like, "I am asking you to do something for me please"
There are many greetings in Japanese which don't exist in English, and I presume French as well
bonne nuit

Bonjour Val,
Actually, it would be better to say: je ferai de mon mieux. I think that 'je ferais...' could be translated by ' I would do my best' ... not the same, sorry :(
I'm also looking forward to speak with you and will keep things simple :)
Bon week-end!
